Mesothelioma

Mesothelioma is an asbestos-related cancer of the lining of the lung (pleura) or the lining of the abdominal cavity (peritoneum).

A mesothelioma diagnosis can be overwhelming both to the person diagnosed and to their family.  The first, and most important, issue to the family is discovering what treatment options are available. Then, other issues, such as being able to pay for those treatments and being able to make sure the family will be taken care of become important, too.

As experienced attorneys who have represented people diagnosed with mesothelioma, we can help you take the steps necessary to find the options that are best suited to your individual needs.  We can answer your questions about the legal consequences of your mesothelioma diagnosis.

Our attorneys and staff are experienced and knowledgeable in dealing with mesothelioma patients and their family members. We understand that this is the most important thing you are going through right now and that you may be worried, angry, anxious or afraid.  We are real people who have been working with others in your situation for several years.  Additionally, we have a network of top attorneys who are available to work with us on your claims. This enables us to provide current representation for most clients across the United States.

Starting with our founding partner Mr. Tomblin and his first mesothelioma clients in the early 1970’s, to our current clients across the nation today, we have built strong relationships with our clients, learned the history of the litigation from the beginning, and have maintained a high level of client support  and satisfaction.

Mesothelioma results from exposure to Asbestos:
Most people with malignant mesothelioma have worked on jobs where they breathed asbestos. Many of our clients were exposed while working in plants or doing construction. Others have been exposed to asbestos in a household environment or elsewhere, often without knowing it.

Amount of Asbestos Exposure:
An exposure of as little as one or two months can result in mesothelioma 30 or 40 years later.

Waiting Period Before disease shows up:
People exposed in the 1940s, 50s, 60s, and 70s are now being diagnosed with mesothelioma because of the long latency period of asbestos disease.

Treatment of Mesothelioma:
Like most cancers, the prognosis for this disease often depends on how early it is diagnosed and how aggressively it is treated. For more information on the cancer and treatment, click on the links below.
