Our Practice Areas

Serious Personal Injury

It isn't fair.  Everyday, people are injured as a result of someone else's actions.  It is worse when the losses suffered are caused by the carelessness, negligence or even intentional behavior of another.

Insurance Bad Faith

Insurance companies have a fiduciary duty to their policy holders. Your insurance company is supposed to act in your best interest.  Too often, the insurance company fails to do this by delaying payment, wrongfully denying claims, and terminating insurance coverage or raising rates when they shouldn't.

Mesothelioma

Mesothelioma is an asbestos-related cancer of the lining of the lung (pleura) or the lining of the abdominal cavity (peritoneum). A mesothelioma diagnosis can be overwhelming both to the person diagnosed and to their family.  The first and most important issue to the family is discovering what treatment options are available. Later, other issues, such as being able to pay for those treatments and being able to make sure the family will be taken care of come into consideration.

Pharmaceutical Recall

Paxil is in a class of medications called selective seratonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs).  Paroxetine or paroxetine hydrochloride, marketed by the drug name Paxil, was approved as a medication by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 1992 as a treatment for adult depression, social anxiety disorder, panic disorder, and Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder. The medication is manufactured and marketed by GlaxoSmithKline in the U.S. in two versions —  Paxil and also in a controlled release form, Paxil CR. SSRIs help maintain a balance of serotonin

Chemical Exposure and Cancer

Millions of workers are exposed to toxic chemicals on the job, even when their employers have attempted to protect them. In many cases, the protections provided are insufficient. Chemical vapors and residues are still breathed or absorbed through the skin. Typically, cancers are caused by years of exposure to carcinogens or very heavy exposure for shorter time periods. In many instances, a person will not develop cancer from chemical exposure until many years (sometimes more than 10 years) after their exposure to these toxins.

Offshore Injury

On-the-job injuries and deaths occur all too often on our nation's inland waterways, in the Gulf of Mexico, and at sea. At Tomblin Carnes McCormack, LLP, our attorneys are committed to helping maritime workers and their families try to recover full compensation for serious injuries and fatal accidents. But our work is about more than just money. We may be able to help injured maritime workers and their families obtain the resources they need to recover — physically, financially, and emotionally.
